Congratulations to our Performers!

A huge congratulations to our performers who played and sang so well at our Winter Recital this past weekend!! I am so proud of all of you!! 

Every time we have a recital I am blown away by the hard work and courage students show both in their preparation and performance. It reinforces for me that what we do together is so important, and that we are building real-life skills that they will carry for the rest of their life. Not just in cultivating their incredible musical skills, but the ability to work towards a challenging goal, learning to recognize and overcome performance nerves, and the pride and satisfaction of a performance well done. It's also a really fun experience for me to see students meet and inspire each other, and to see friendships expand outside of the studio. 

 We raised $235 for MusicShare which is incredible!! I'm so excited to pass those funds along to our BCRMTA branch president to then be distributed to our local school district music programs.

As I mentioned at the recital, this year the funds we raised at our spring concert are going towards Garibaldi Secondary's upcoming District Elementary Band Collaborative Workshop event in January.

Congratulations to Chloe S. who won the draw for the Tom Lee gift card! This gift card was sent to us from our BCRMTA branch for donating to the Music Share initiative. 

Our next recital will be at the end of the school year and is such a great opportunity for students to be motivated and push themselves, meet other students in the studio, and be inspired by their fellow musicians. Keep your eyes open for those sign-up emails!
